nucleus bee colony is normally available for sale from June to August.
I am currently taking orders with payment on a first come first served
basis for bees available in 2012.
To avoid
disappointment you must order and pay before spring 2012.
All
bees come on a minimum of 5 combs with a locally bred*, laying queen
bee
in her first year. They are available
on either British National DN4 Deep Frames, British National 14 x 12
Frames or 17 inch Top Bars. They are supplied in an
appropriate
nucleus hive suitably ventilated and prepared for travel. Nucleus
colonies on DN4 National frames are also available in a new, complete,
full size National bee hive.
(*Beware of nucleus
colonies offered by some early in spring with imported queen
bees, they are not a good idea, often unsuited to our environment with
undesirable characteristics, besides other reasons.) Providing
a little care is taken, bees can be transported easily in these hives
over
long distances without coming to harm but if you know, or can
imagine, what parcels go through when they are sent by parcel post or
courier networks (it's not fair on the poor bees) you'll understand why
I only offer bees for collection from me in Cornwall.
I can also provide any advice on transferring your bees that you need
when you collect. I am a professional bee farmer and bee
breeder so you can be assured of qualified advice and 'after sales
technical support'.
I

QUEEN BEES FOR SALE
Queen Bees for sale - Caged £35 + £4.50 P&P
Locally bred queen bees, current year, mated and laying good brood.
Normally available to buy from May to September. The queen bees are
supplied caged and candied with attendants, unmarked, unclipped and
untouched. They can be marked and clipped for an additional £5. Email
me for availability. If you need a queen in a hurry I can send you a
request for payment via Paypal which is instant. I can normally
despatch (Royal Mail 1st class, recorded delivery) within a day of
receiving payment but I do not post out on Fridays or Saturdays to
avoid any being stuck in the post over the weekend. If you prefer an
alternative method of payment just email your order and I'll send an
invoice.
